The 475 uses a patented testing method called “conductance testing”. Conductance describes the ability of a battery to conduct the current needed for its various functions. It’s been proven that a linear relationship exists between battery conductance and capacity, or total energy delivered by batteries in time-discharged tests.

Since conductance is proportional to battery capacity, it can effectively identify cells or batteries which may require attention or replacement due to defects or deterioration. Not only do you save time with the testing, you also reduce the time wasted on trying to charge bad batteries. With the 475, you test the battery condition first, then recharge only the good ones.

Another advantage is that the voltage and current applied by this type of testing are very low, so there is never any danger of harming the battery.
